Open Settings and search for a city. The bundled list covers more than 34,000 places. Check the time zone and elevation, then save. For a smaller place, use a nearby city or manual coordinates. Searches stay on your device.
Compare the same date, local time, coordinates, time zone, sunrise convention, ayanamsa and lunar month convention. Amanta and Purnimanta month names can differ legitimately. “Until” means the current value ends at that time. A Panchang day usually follows sunrise, rather than midnight.
Festival dates are clearly labelled previews. Regional precedence, Smarta/Vaishnava fasting and Parana rules are not complete. Do not use preview markers as a certified fasting schedule.
Today shows the selected place, date and time. Open a Panchang element to inspect its transitions. Month lets you choose a day; Timings shows the daily periods. In My dates, save an Amanta lunar month/tithi rule for a family observance and inspect its next local-sunrise match. You can edit or delete a saved rule.
Use Add to Apple Calendar to review an event in Apple’s calendar editor, then choose Save or Cancel. No calendar-reading permission is requested. Reminders are optional one-time device notifications; check or reschedule them after changing a place or lunar rule. Cancel pending reminders in Settings. Settings also offers Export a backup and an import that merges valid saved dates. Keep exported backups private.
Today, Month, Timings and My dates offer the same planning features with Android controls. Tap the place name to search the offline city directory or enter coordinates. Tap Add to calendar to review an event in your calendar app; no calendar-reading permission is needed. My dates includes compatible iPhone/iPad backups and optional one-time reminders. Android battery management can delay notifications. Update Android System WebView if the offline calculation engine cannot start. Existing Android data is preserved and offered for import when upgrading.
In Calendar, select categories and a reminder lead time, then Export this month. The calendar file is free and can be imported into your calendar app. Imported markers represent the disclosed deciding time or window; a one-minute marker is not a ceremony duration. Calendar apps and device settings determine whether reminders appear. The web app does not promise background notifications.
The native iPhone and iPad app includes its calculation engine and city directory for offline use from first launch. For the web app, use Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone/iPad, or your browser’s install option on Android/desktop. Wait for “Offline ready” before disconnecting. Native apps are now available for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows. Visit Get the app for the official store links and Android/Linux availability.
Email sgopala@gmail.com with your app version, date, approximate place, time zone and calculation conventions. Include a reference and describe the difference; avoid private family details or precise home coordinates. The web and other app versions also offer “Report a difference” to prepare a local draft. Nothing is sent automatically. Submit non-sensitive reports through GitHub support.
